The Ladies of Horror
Picture-Prompt Writing Challenge!
Sparked
by Amy Zoellers
Their plan is to summon storms,
to whip them up in their flights of audacity
Their plan will stir up tragedy and ghosts,
ghosts to lure you to wayward and shadowed alleys.
No good, no rest will find you there.
They flap and flail death and catastrophe.
The tree falls through the kitchen window and roof,
where are you?
They flail, stir the vengeful ghosts
whose bitterness has nothing to do with you,
centuries have passed, but you are handy
for the haunting.
Just rows of birds on wires
heeding their conductor.
