Patient. Preying. Omniscient eyes, aware of all, living and dead. Past. Present. Future pending, uncertain for all but these creatures, yet they continue on…

That’s a lot of atmosphere in a few words – it has a real sense of menace and that phrase “The floor grieves life” – so good.
