Ghost Walk
by Amy Zoellers
.
I quit my tomb, waltzing
a shadow on air.
Why have I come there
where nobody’s dreaming?
.
Cackling, sobbing,
collapse to the ground.
That trancing sound…
I can’t hear enough of it.
In my riverside roaming
flames take me, I ignite
to echo my death-night
and calm is my ghost-walk.
For what? I don’t know.
The call is delirious,
we spirits: mysterious
and given to show.

A exquisite dark poem.
Those last lines – “we spirits: mysterious and given to show.” – wonderful!
