The Ladies of Horror
Picture-Prompt Writing Challenge!
Holy Fire (Ergot Sclerotia)
by Alina Măciucă
Ignis sacer,
Glorious butcher of dreams.
Not our sins, but our bread
In death and madness has united us,
Stormed our flesh and spirits.
Sorrow bringer, enclosed us into an
Arabesque of pain.
Colossal scourge, you have consumed us in
Ecstasy, and blackened our limbs with
Rot.

A fantastic poem.
Damn! Wat to come in on fire! I love this!
You got me so excited with this poem I forgot how to type 😀
Really clever and imaginative work – love the link between the image of the mill and ergot – powerful.
